What is upcycling?
Doing more with less. Upcycled foods are made from ingredients that would otherwise have ended up in a landfill. Act Bar uses upcycled grains, the byproduct of beer production.
How does every Act Bar prevent 3 gallons of water from going to waste? Over 300 gallons of water are required to produce just 1 pound of virgin grains. Through our alternative use of 5.5 grams of upcycled grains in every bar, we prevent 3 gallons of water from going to waste for every 1 bar produced.
What are upcycled grains?
Upcycled grains are what’s left over from the beer production process. After a majority of the gluten and sugar is brewed out of the grains, what's left behind is an incredibly high protein, high fiber, superfood.
How does Act Bar donate 1 meal for every 1 bar purchased?
We donate 25 cents of every bar purchased to Los Angeles Regional Food Bank. This donation enough to provide an entire meal. What the meal is differs depending on where and when it is distributed. What Los Angeles Food Bank has promised us is that every meal is atleast 1.5 pounds of nutrtrient dense food.
What kind of meal is donated when I purchase an Act Bar?

How are the meals donated distributed to those in need?
Los Angeles Regional Food Bank has over 600 partner agencies throughout LA county that allow them to provide over 800,000 meals a month to those in need.
What is the shelf life of Act Bars?
6 months.
Is Act Bar gluten free?
No. There are trace amounts of gluten in our upcycled grains.

Can I freeze or refrigerate Act Bars?
Although you can and they would still be safe to eat, the texture and taste could be impacted.
What does post consumer recycled packaging mean?
Act Bar packaging is made from post-consumer recycled material. This material is made from the items that consumers recycle every day, like aluminum, cardboard boxes, paper, and plastic bottles.
How should I store my Act Bars?
In a cool dry space.
How do I track my order?

Our team prints out shipping labels as soon as your order is placed, therefore we are unable to make changes once the order has been placed.
